新版的Windows Live Mail客户端中依然保留了PhotoMail这一特色功能。很多朋友或许不太明白Photo Mail究竟是用来做什么的。简单点说，就是更便捷的分享图片。
Photo Mail主要包括两部分：缩略图显示的邮件主体以及完整形式的在线存储。当用户发送一封Photo Mail时，Email中所插入的图片会在本机分成两种形式发送，其中较小的缩略图会在邮件主体中以附件形式发送，而较大的高画质原始文件则会上传到Spaces服务器上存储，以方便您的查看、下载和使用。这样的好处不言而喻，您不必为了一个巨大的5M图片附件等待半天却不知它的内容；当您觉得它就是你想要的，那就在线下载它吧。
Windows Live Mail客户端的Photo Mail功能是原先MSN Explorer中MSN Photo Mail的超级简化版本，简化得可以用简陋来形容——它仅保留了其中的三种布局形式，三种边框（加无边框的情形）、两种效果（自动+黑白）、右旋90度（注意，只有右旋！）以及3种Resize形式，这和MSN Photo Mail中依托于Microsoft Digital Image 2006（更早的版本是Microsoft Picture It! Express 9）而存在的十种布局形式，近百种边框，其他各种特性与编辑方式相比实在太过简化。不过也许大家都相对较难接触到MSN Photo Mail，所以大家可以借助这段视频来加以了解。
MSN Photo Mail的介绍：
You can use MSN Photo E-Mail to create a miniature photo album in an e-mail message. Your photos can be stored online (Connected to a network, Internet service provider [ISP], or the Internet, or signed in to an instant-messaging service.) or sent within the e-mail message.
When you store photos online, thumbnails (A small version of an image.) of the photos are included in the e-mail message. The full-size photos are uploaded to the MSN servers (A computer that stores and shares information on a network.) . The recipients can use any e-mail program to view the thumbnails in an e-mail message, download (Copy a program or file from another location, such as the Internet, to your computer.) the full-size photos, and view a slide show of the photos.
You can also insert photos inline in an e-mail message. This is quicker than creating a photo album but it has fewer formatting options.
尽管如此，Photo Mail依然是一个值得你稍微去尝试和使用的功能：结合了Windows Live Mail，Windows Live ID与在线存储的Photo Mail是其他任何一家Email服务商都不具备的特色服务。当然，它的使用也是非常便捷的：
1. 在撰写Email的工具条中选择
添加照片 按钮
或在文件菜单上的新建下拉条中选择“照片电子邮件”（快捷方式Shift+Ctrl+P）2. 在弹出的的对话框中选择您要添加的图片，并插入。
3. 注意选择“将图片作为相册插入”的选项:
当它未被选择时，图片会被调整大小后以附件形式发出；
当它被选中时，图片则会以Photo Mail发出。4. 添加 & 完成
5. 您可以分别修改图片的布局（小、中、大）、边框（无、纵向、毛边、框架）、效果（自动更正、黑白、右旋90度）以及上传到服务上文件的大小（原始文件不能超过5M）
特别提示的一点是：
1. 您必须在Windows Live Mail客户端登入您的Windows Live ID，否则是无法上传高分辨率图片至服务器，而仅仅是将缩略图作为附件发送
2. Photo Mail在线存储的时效为30天，过期将会被删除
